How To Export OE6 Files & Settings From Old PC

In this tutorial, I will guide you step-by-step in backup your Outlook Express 6.

Main Checklist
» Inbox Folder [x]
» Account Settings [x]
» Address Book [x]

Step 1
Open OE, right click on your Inbox & select “Properties”. Copy the Outlook Express path & open it in explorer. Copy & Paste Outlook Express folder into your backup directory.

“C:\Documents and Settings\your-user-account\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{this-number-may-differ-for-each-pc}\Microsoft\”

Step 2
Export all your email accounts by go to “Tools >> Accounts”. Select your accounts & save it to your backup directory. If you have multiple accounts, export each of to your backup directory. In these case, I have one account only.

Step 3
Export your address book by go to “Tools >> Address Book“. Then save it to your backup directory.

Now, we’re done our job in backup Outlook Express. All needed files already in the same directory. In next tutorial, I’ll show you how to restore them into new PC. Don’t miss it.
